Kidshape
Call for information.
Kidshape is a family-based pediatric weight management program for families with overweight children. The program is physician referred and free. Sponsored by Highmark and Ohio Valley General Hospital. It meets weekly for two hours over eight weeks on the campus of Ohio Valley General Hospital in the W. Laird Davis Center of Learning. Cancer Caring Support Group
First and Third Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The group meets twice monthly on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All cancer patients and family members are welcome. The group session is free, but registration is required by calling (412) 688-1212.

MallWalkers
Third Wednesday of Every Month from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Ohio Valley General Hospital and the Mall at Robinson sponsor MallWalkers, an indoor walking program. The Mall's walking hours are 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday - Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. (Only door K, lower level between Dick's and Sears, is open the first hour.) Hospital representatives are available the third Wednesday of each month from 8 a.m. 10 a.m. on the lower level near Sears for free blood pressure and glucose screenings and wellness information.

Diabetes Support Group

Held in the Hospital’s obstetrics suite on the third floor. This is a one-time class for expectant mothers on breastfeeding techniques and the advantages of breastfeeding. Call (412) 777-6272 to register.

Lamaze Class

Located in the W. Laird Davis Center of Learning; Roseta Conference Center. A certified instructor provides in-depth instruction on childbirth to expectant parents. The fee for this class is $65.

PRE-NATAL & INFANT CARE CLASS

Located in the Hospital's Boardroom. A one-time class for expectant parents on the signs of labor, anesthesia and fetal monitoring. For those in seventh or eighth month of pregnancy.

Healthcheck Health Screening
Wednesday, May 24th (by appointment)
Located in the W. Laird Davis Center of Learning Auditorium. From a single blood sample, 32 individual tests will be performed to detect potentially serious illnesses such as anemia, diabetes, liver disease, kidney dysfunction and gout. A 14-hour fast is required (water is allowed).
